Ugh! The Humidity!
Humidity can be good for dry or cold sensitive skin. My skin seems to do better in the summer in regards to hydration. But can become easily overheated. If you are oily or have acne it can actually create more issues for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis will also likely get worse in the humid, hot days of summer.
⠀Humidity may throw off the balance of your skin's microbiome and the beneficial bacteria leading to fungus or fungal acne. It can break down the skin's barrier allowing pollution and allergens to enter and create irritation and inflammation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finding ways to help with the effects humidity has on the skin during this time of year will greatly reduce your skin irritation and breakouts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Make sure you are cleansing your skin twice a day. Definitely wash your face before you go to bed! You want to remove all of the dirt, sweat, allergens and pollution from the day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are acne prone or oily, cleanse your skin right after your workout to reduce the excess sweat that will increase bacteria on the skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-- Use products that will help balance the microbiome of the skin. With humidity the bacteria on the skin will change and can create skin issues and disfunction. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the products that is a skin saving product in summer is Roccoco Eruption Emulsion. Besides treating acne is is strongly anti-fungal, repairs the skin barrier and balances the microbiome of the skin.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Roccoco Globiotic Serum will balance and the microbiome (correct, healthy bacteria) of the skin, maintain the skin barrier and keeps skin hydrated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Stay cool as much as possible. Older skin especially has trouble removing heat out of the skin. ⠀
Have fun this summer but as always, give yourself and your skin some extra love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
